Understanding the Brand.

AuVin (oh-VA) is a luxury perfume house inspired by the world of fine wine. Each fragrance is aged in oak barrels before it is bottled, giving it a deeper, rounder scent profile that evolves throughout the day. This brand was born from a desire to slow down; to create something that’s not mass-produced, but a more intentional take on luxury.

 

In a world of instant everything, AuVin invites wearers to savor scent the way one might savor a fine vintage wine: slowly, richly, and layered. 

The Vision.

To create a fragrance brand where time is the core ingredient. From the aging process to the textured packaging, every part of AuVin is a quiet celebration of patience and craftsmanship.

The Challenge.

How do you craft a luxury fragrance brand that feels truly different in an industry flooded with florals, fantasy, and overused tropes? The goal with AuVin was to carve out something that felt luxurious without being flashy, elegant without being expected. The branding needed to bring the concept of “fragrance aged like wine” into a visual identity that would speak to thoughtful, design-conscious buyers.
From the logo to the unboxing, every detail had to echo the feeling of rarity, intention, and exclusivity.

Brand Feel & Values:

  • Aesthetic: Barrel-inspired with warm, textural finishes

  • Tone: Cultured, refined, indulgent without excess

  • Values: Craftsmanship, time-honoured tradition, tactile luxury

Executing the Vision.

The identity was built around the slow craft of winemaking, drawing parallels between how wine matures and how AuVin’s fragrances deepen over time. The name itself (French for “with wine”) set the tone. From there, the entire brand story unfolded.

 

We designed the experience to reflect:​​

  • The story behind each small batch;

  • The ritual of applying the fragrance; and

  • The evolution of the scent on the skin.

 

To achieve this, we focused on creating branding that is quiet, and relies on texture, space, and thoughtful materials to speak for itself.

Designing the Look & Feel.

The Logo.

The 'AV' monogram intertwines like grapevines, referencing both vineyards and the idea of cultivated luxury. In the name, the ‘U’ doubles as a wine glass, with a flowing stroke from the ‘A’ that is pouring wine… or perfume.

The Visual Identity.

We borrowed cues from the world of wine and spirits, but softened them to feel more elevated and refined.


The color palette is warm and minimal: cream, charcoal, and gold. Materials lean into texture: uncoated paper, engraved marks, and minimal ink that gives every element space to breathe. 

Packaging the Story.

The Bottle.

The bottle was designed as a keepsake and conversation piece. It is shaped like a miniature wine barrel, with vertical inlays and golden bands. The cork-style cap is a subtle nod to traditional wine bottling, finished in woodgrain to invite touch.

 

Each bottle feels like something to display rather than to store or throw away.

The Box.
A premium drawer-style box with a soft-touch forest green exterior opens to reveal a warm woodgrain interior. The inside features straw-like nestling material inspired by vintage wine crates.

Inside the lid, the carved 'AV' monogram and logotype reinforce the brand’s attention to detail. The box itself is sturdy enough to be reused, making it a lasting reminder of the brand long after first use.

The Unboxing Experience.
Opening AuVin feels like opening a reserve wine or a treasured gift. You’re meant to slow down. From the textures to the gentle scent that escapes as the lid opens, every part of the experience is crafted to draw you in.

Positioning the Brand.

AuVin was made to explore what happens when fragrance is treated with the same reverence as fine wine. The result is a brand that doesn’t just sell perfume, but a story, a ritual, and a rare kind of sophistication.

 

Even as a concept, AuVin stands apart from the crowded fragrance market with a bold premise and a simple but effective design execution. AuVin aims to become a coveted collector’s item and a lasting sensory experience to be shared with others.
